My research focuses on integral field observations and analyses of active galaxies. These galaxies host supermassive black holes in their centers that are actively accreting matter (as shown in the artist's impression above). I have used data from ground-based observatories such as Gemini and VLT to understand the gas distribution and kinematics in these galaxies. I focused mainly on quantifying the non-circular motions (inflows in outflows) in multiple gas phases, from ionised to molecular gas. Check out my publications to learn more.
As a postdoc I started working with JWST data of ultra-luminous infrared galaxies, that besides hosting an active nucleus (in some cases) are also actively star-forming, which only makes them more interesting and challenging to analyze :)
